The Remarkable Race FAQs

Participants are challenged to walk up to 5km around South London to raise money for Evelina London Children’s Charity. By taking part in this charity walking challenge, you are supporting the amazing team at Evelina London, who provide compassionate, trailblazing care for children and families every day.

The event will take place on Sunday 5th July 2026, with a 10:00am start. The 5km route begins at Archbishop’s Park in London and finishes in St Thomas’ Gardens.

Along the way, you’ll:

• Walk along the South Bank past iconic landmarks like the London Eye
• Cross Waterloo Bridge towards Big Ben
• Return via Lambeth Bridge

Full route maps and travel details will be shared ahead of the event. The route follows a flat, accessible riverside path, designed to be suitable for wheelchairs, buggies and little legs.

The full route is up to 5km, with a shorter 3km option available.

You can go at your own pace, take breaks and choose the distance that works best for you and your family.

This is a non-competitive event, it’s all about taking part.

There is no age limit, everyone is welcome! Under 16s need a parent or guardian to register on their behalf. If you need help please email hello@evelinacharity.org.uk.

Everyone is welcome. The Remarkable Race is designed to be inclusive and accessible. It’s open to:

• Children and adults of all ages (Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult)
• Families, friends and supporters
• Wheelchair users and those with prams
• Anyone looking for an achievable, welcoming event

Yes, everyone who signs up will receive an official Remarkable Race t-shirt.

You’ll be asked for your size when registering. T-shirts will either be sent to you in advance or available to collect on the day.
